Green Pointer: A Stolen Language grows out of my personal experience with language and seeing. In childhood, several traumas made verbal communication difficult for me. Years later, in cinematography, the laser pointer became a kind of substitute language a tool for indicating, directing attention, marking a point in space or within the frame, and expressing something that could not always be easily conveyed through words. Later, however, the same tool took on another meaning in my political memory. In the streets of my homeland, a light that had served me as a means of communication and expression became a sign of control, tracking, and the targeting of protesters’ bodies during street demonstrations. The project begins there: at the moment when a personal and professional language is appropriated by political power and absorbed into the logic of violence.

In this staged series, I return that light to the image not to repeat the violence, but to look at it. The image here is not an answer; it is a field of encounter. The green line marks bodies, objects, trees, and spaces, but it does not complete them. Green Pointer is an attempt to see without forgetting; to return a stolen tool to the language of the image.
